David Ciommo

Data Visualization Principal, Humana

Speaker Bio

David Ciommo is the Data Visualization Principal and Leader of the Visualization Center of Excellence in Humana's IT Information Management & Analytics area. In this role he helps guide business partners, IT partners and senior leadership in finding the “story” and actionable opportunity in their data. That story is then illustrated in the user interface and user experience of the dashboards, digital reports and applications David designs. In addition to his daily work, David speaks, educates, consults and mentors on a variety of topics including data literacy, the fundamentals of data visualization and best practices in UI/UX design.

Prior to Humana, David worked as a marketing, advertising and communications Art Director. He has created some of the world's most recognizable brands such as The Discovery Channel’s original Animal Planet logo. In his role as Senior Art Director at the World Wildlife Fund, he has led and designed countless products and award-winning advertising campaigns, some of which can still be seen in airports and other locations across the country. David’s expertise in visual story-telling and design has contributed to many other local and global advertising campaigns for The Discovery Channel, Lockheed Martin, Papa John's and the Milk Processor Education Program “GOT MILK?” campaign.
