Speaker Bio

As a Business Intelligence Lead at Precima, Mohammad is responsible for leading a team of BI developers in charge of designing and developing analytical solutions for major retail brands across the world. Having worked as Database Administration Manager, Analytics and Business Intelligence Lead and Recommender Systems Designer for over 14 years, he has an extensive experience in data governance, meta data and master data management, data dictionary and business glossary creation, quantitative and qualitative analysis, recommender systems design and development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, descriptive and predictive data mining, comparative analysis, business intelligence, in-memory computing, data modeling, capacity planning, database administration and database development.

Prior to joining Precima in 2017, Mohammad’s roles included Analytics Lead for Vistaprint, BI Lead developer at Canadian Pacific and Database Manager at Critical Mass. In addition, Mohammad has been conducting researched on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and recommender systems for the past 7 years. He has successfully developed several recommender systems for learning management systems to address learner-centric learning and information overload. Mohmmad also regularly presents at different academic conferences on recommender systems and information overload challenges.

Mohammad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Software Engineering and is a graduate student in Master of Science, Information Systems at Athabasca University currently preparing to defend his thesis with the topic of “Improving Recommender Systems for Learning through Web Mining to Discover Relevant Learning Objects from the Web”.
