Jason Teoh

Head of Business Intelligence, Openreach

Speaker Bio

Jason Teoh is Head of Business Intelligence for Openreach – a wholesale telecoms network provider for the 30 million homes and businesses in the UK. He leads Business Intelligence for Fibre & Network Delivery – the part of Openreach responsible for the delivery of fibre and network infrastructure for all of our residential and business customers.

Jason’s responsibilities spans across the data and analytics journey: from generating data from systems, to reporting, visualisation and insight, as well as more complex statistical modelling and data science. The data, analytics, and insight created by his team supports the 10,500 people that are building and enabling fibre connectivity throughout the UK.

A key focus area for Jason is revolutionising the way Openreach provides analytics across the organisation. His team is using Qlik to move Openreach from Excel, putting data and analytics into the hands of the engineers to empower better decision making by the operational teams on a day to day basis.

Jason has had a number of roles across Openreach, starting as a statistical modelling graduate in Openreach’s residential arm. He spent 5 years in sales, working on and then leading Openreach’s high profile government bids, and running national sales before moving back into analytics to lead Business Intelligence.

Jason has always been successful at making analytics accessible. People are scared numbers, so finding ways to make data simple and understandable, through Qlik, allows him to make Openreach ever more data literate.
